Minutes:

• Introduction of new board members
  • Proposed new roles: Hornblower Editor, Social Media, Golf, University Liaison (to coordinate UC Davis, San Jose State and Chico),
  • Anjali-> Social Media
• Vote: Dues for next term
• Financial Report-Craig & Terri
• Director at Large – Our charter calls for a minimum of 3 and we have 6!
• Voting Compliance with IFT- We missed the February date and August election
  • We are double checking by-laws to validate we can appoint people (Craig to lead), ensure we are ready by December to follow IFT election format.
    • Treasurer needs to be a current member- update membership
• New Proposed Committees:
  • University Liaisons- Erin to Contact- Maria(Chico state), Alex for University outreach opportunities
  • Education Committee-Bruce, Erin, Ashwini, Abigail, students
  • Golf Committee-Jas, Craig + 2-3 others
• Event planning-Virtual for remainder of 2020, and need event ideas for 2021
  • Virtual event, happy hour?
• Ambassador Program-Could goal to implement next term.
• IFT Connect & Section Leader Resources refresher course (Craig will coordinate)
• Current & Proposed Initiatives:
  • Scholarship evaluation and expansion to SJSU & Chico State- Need based, and to involve Charwitt who is incharge of scholarships for NCIFT
  • Science Fair judges
  • Central Valley IFT leadership development
  • CFS award program- ambassador to keep track of new CFS and recognize those people who are certified and encourage the program.
• Member of the Year Award-Nikoo
• Budget requests due to Jas & Anjali by Sept. 15​th​ please (NP, Education, etc.)
• IFT-related dates and deadlines
  • August 31-Dues changes to IFT
    • Vote Not to raise the annual membership dues: Erin First, Jaspreet 2nd, Passed Unanimous by all attendees
  • September 24-Virtual Volunteer Leadership Summit
  • October 31-Financial Report Due
  • 80th anniversary for NCIFT Next Year-Bruce to look into first 50 yrs
