JOB TITLE: Quality Assurance – Part-time (10-20 hours per week)

REPORTS TO:  Director, QA

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY: This contract/part-time role will be responsible for assisting Quality  Assurance Director in maintaining Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Quality Assurance programs, including but not limited to, HACCP, 3rd party audits, and compliance certifications.
  • Work with QA Director to qualify new and/or existing suppliers.
  • Conduct product testing; this includes competitive product cutting, inspecting QA retention samples, shelf life studies, and maintaining and organizing product specifications.
  • Compile characterization data to ensure compliance with product quality standards. 
  • Maintain records, logs of test data, reports, specifications, and other quality procedures to ensure availability of accurate and thorough information. 
  • Develop and identify trends of consumer dashboard using consumer feedback data.
  • Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or equivalent with 2-5 years of experience; other work experience in customer service or manufacturing role helpful
  • Knowledge and understanding of food safety, HACCP systems, USDA/FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Familiar or experience with 3rd party audits such as SQF and BRC
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills 
  • Flexible, commuted team player

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
  • Good computer skills
